Hi mommy! :-D be happy!

(Above written by Daniel in 1992, on my family program ♥ He always recited, "Be Happy"! And we were all so happy)

A huge, tragic loss - our son. I always see you coming through the door to greet us with your cheery, happy hello. The grand expression of delight in family gatherings will be forever in our mind. You are always the highlight and the presenter of laughter, love, concerns, and hugs. And you are well loved and so very missed.

Few words right now. We miss you so. And love you so. You will be remembered.
Services held January 18, 2020
at Edmonds United Methodist Church. Pictures soon.

Interests: Always working to help others, Daniel was involved with the local fire service department training and graduation in 2006; interest in paramedics and joining our US Army; interest in overseas medical help with military personnel ; and working toward helping others in counties to receive proper medical care. If he were able to, he would now be active in banding together with other medical professionals to fight this pandemic and covid19 virus. Daniel was a huge supporter of Doctors Without Borders. He loved the work this group did to support medical professionals in other countries.

Please consider offering help by donating to Doctors Without Borders. We have continued a $100 dollar contribution as Daniel had, in his name. He was passionate about helping others.

Daniel LOVED to visit the giraffe's at the zoo and he had several stuffed models he carried along with him on his travels. I will try to post pictures of these too. He also had several giraffe's that were loved between him and his girlfriend.

Daniel H. Sherrill
07 Oct 1985 – 27 Dec 2019
Daniel H. Sherrill, 34, of Seattle, passed away into the arms of angels very unexpectedly on December 27, 2019. He was born in Everett, to Richard H. Sherrill and Tami R. Rodig.

Daniel was raised in Edmonds and attended Mukilteo schools, graduating from Kamiak High School in 2004 where he was a standout student in history and mathematics. While attending Everett Community College, Daniel trained with the Mukilteo Fire Department and graduated from the Mukilteo Firefighter Recruit Class of 2006. He had long dreams of becoming a paramedic and was proud of this accomplishment. Returning to school and pursuing a degree in biology and chemistry, Daniel graduated from Central Washington University in 2009. He excelled as a manufacturing specialist within the field of biotechnology.

Daniel enjoyed spending time with friends and family, was very active in hiking, kayaking, and snowboarding. He enjoyed backpacking and camping trips throughout National Parks across the country, and was especially fond of visiting the Olympic Peninsula. Daniel was a sports enthusiast, regularly attending and following the Seattle Seahawks, Mariners, Everett Aquasox, and Everett Silvertips. He also enjoyed attending concerts and music festivals. You would often find him taking full advantage of the music scene throughout Washington, attending summer series events at Marymoor Park, Chateau Ste Michelle, the Gorge, and Seattle Center.

Besides his parents, Daniel is survived by two grandmother's, Ruth Rodig, and Joan Havercroft; a brother, Jeremy Sherrill, and sister, Andrea (Chase) Fakkema; uncles Steve Rodig, Chris (Jody) Rodig, Jeff (Katie) Sherrill, and Andy Sherrill; and an aunt, Connie (James) Hoag; numerous cousin, nieces and nephews. Daniel was preceded in death by grandfathers Leon Holt Sherrill, Leonard L. Rodig and Frank Havercroft.

Please wear a sports shirt or jersey and join us in a celebration to honor Daniel's life at a celebration service on January 18 at 1:00 pm at Edmonds United Methodist Church, 828 Caspers St, Edmonds, WA, 98020.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Doctors Without Borders in memory of Daniel at https://donate.doctorswithoutborders.org/onetime.cfm.
